Elcom, a leading Digital Employee Experience Platform Provider, proudly announces the launch of a new intranet for Catholic Education Tasmania. The intranet is designed to simplify and streamline communication and resource management across its 38 schools and colleges, as well as 4 central offices throughout Tasmania.
Confronted with the limitations of an outdated in-house system, Catholic Education Tasmania sought a modern, accessible, and secure intranet.
The process of selecting a suitable provider involved a thorough search based on cost, functionality, and support. “The Elcom platform provided everything we needed. Having what we required built into the intranet from day one was extremely helpful for launching within a short timeframe. Working with an Australian provider, ensuring our intranet information was hosted in Australia, and having access to a local support team for ongoing assistance were also factors for choosing Elcom,” said Jill Miles, Marketing and Communications Manager at Catholic Education Tasmania.
The new solution provides enhanced functionality for a wide range of use cases, greater accessibility on various devices, and a more personalised user experience to support Catholic Education Tasmania’s vast network of staff and to streamline its operations effectively.
The new Elcom intranet solution prioritises user experience, ensuring quick and intuitive access to a wealth of resources aimed at improving knowledge sharing and communication across the organisation including a people finder, and knowledge bases with advanced dropdowns and filters for precise search results. Additionally, staff can customise their experience with options like favourites and preferences to locate information that interests them straight away.
The intranet’s design reflects the diverse needs within Catholic Education Tasmania, providing different levels of access and information to various groups including central office staff, senior leaders, and publishers.
Another pivotal aspect of the intranet is the events manager, which simplifies registrations by offering online forms and automating follow-ups for professional learning events, a feature that has been warmly received by the staff.
Josh Anstey, Customer Solutions Director at Elcom, who worked closely with Jill on the project, stated, “Our focus was to deliver an intranet solution that not only met the immediate communication needs of the organisation but also provided a scalable platform to support their future growth and innovation.”
As Catholic Education Tasmania continues to roll out the intranet in stages, the organisation recognises the significant benefits of this user-friendly platform, including efficient and decentralised content management, adaptability, and a high level of security and permission customisation.
Reflecting on the partnership with Elcom, Jill explains, “The team absolutely met my expectations. We made the right decision choosing Elcom. It was quite clear from the outset that this would deliver what we needed. The feedback from our staff has been overwhelmingly positive. The new intranet has reduced the reliance on time-consuming email communications by centralising information, facilitating corporate knowledge sharing, and supporting the various specialised roles within the schools.”
