We held a series of three all-day workshops with various stakeholders from the school community. Key outcomes from these workshops shaped the new website's direction. These included streamlining the enrolment process explanation to make it more digestible for prospective parents and providing more compelling and relevant information for prospective staff members. Throughout the development, we continued to work closely with stakeholders to ensure the end result met their needs.
Shore's longstanding and positive partnership with Elcom made them the natural choice for this website project. Together, we successfully brought the vision for the new website to life.
It was a huge effort to turn this project around with the limited amount of time we had, but Elcom did their part exceedingly well. Their passion and energy for great outcomes was evident throughout the project. Their collaborative approach, coupled with their expertise and responsiveness led to a smooth delivery of the website.
We have greatly simplified the navigation on the website to make it much easier for people to find what they need. The previous website was trying to cater to all audiences, with information relevant to prospective parents and staff members, but also for current parents, staff and Alumni. We made the strategic decision to relocate internally focused information to appropriate channels, creating a cleaner, more intuitive interface for prospective parents and staff. We've also made the enrolment pathway explanation simpler for people who are taking that step on behalf of their child.
A key enhancement to our new website is the integration of engaging visual content. We've embedded more videos throughout the site, including exciting virtual tours of our campuses and facilities. This addition makes it a more compelling experience for people trying to find out more about the school, which is particularly valuable for overseas and regional families. It means they can come to the site and find all the information they need without having to invest in physically coming to the school from a great distance. This can help with their decision-making process as to whether they send their child here for Boarding.
Understanding the importance of our international community, we’ve also made the decision to develop a Mandarin version of the site. This micro-site will feature core pages translated for Mandarin-speaking prospective parents, facilitating informed decisions for families from Asia and multi-generational Australian families who may prefer Mandarin.
We've revamped our careers section to provide more detailed information about the benefits of working at Shore. This includes highlighting our collaborative environment, sense of community, and prime locations in North Sydney and Northbridge. By making this information more accessible and engaging, we're better equipped to attract top talent to our school.
