The Requirement

INSEARCH’s public website had developed organically in response to substantial growth over the past five years and as a result, a variety of problems were encountered including:

• Lack of overarching and intuitive workflow and information architecture
• Lack of a consistent look and feel across the websites that did not comply with the recent brand refresh requirements
• Existing public website had come about largely as a result of business, not user, requirements
• Content management system was over seven years old with usability and compliance problems

INSEARCH recognised these problems and engaged Elcom to provide a solution with requirements that included:

• A robust and user-friendly CMS platform that enforces publishing standards while supporting distributed content creation
• Minimising customisation, but ensuring access to qualified personnel should this be required
• Working with a proven company that could provide end-to-end services when required to help INSEARCH manage projects to deadline and budget

The Solution

Elcom worked closely with INSEARCH and provided its Enterprise Content Management System (ECMS) CommuntiyManager.NET as the foundation of INSEARCH’s online tools.

The first website that was delivered using the new CMS framework was the INSEARCH public website. This included considerable use of video testimonials utilising CommunityManager.NET’s rich media features. The INSEARCH website solution also includes a customised search tool to help students find the most suitable study program.

The new INSEARCH website was jointly developed by INSEARCH, Yello and Elcom. It has a unique visual design that lifted the appearance and user experience of the website while supporting the brand objectives of INSEARCH.

The Benefits

As a result of implementing Elcom’s CommunityManager.NET for the INSEARCH website, INSEARCH has experienced many benefits.

INSEARCH now has:

• A robust and scalable CMS platform which will be the foundation to help it grow its online resources in the future
• A new fresh website which has been developed around user-centric design principles ensuring the user has the best experience on the website possible resulting in repeat visits

INSEARCH has benefited from using a much more user-friendly and intuitive content editor than previous CMS tools used. The scalability and flexibility of Elcom’s CommunityManager.NET has given INSEARCH the comfort of knowing that the solution can grow with INSEARCH over time. Initial analysis of website traffic also shows that users are visiting more pages on the website and are staying on the website for a longer period of time. These are the start of many benefits for INSEARCH as a result of implementing Elcom’s CommunityManager.NET.
