The RequirementHyundai required a system that would centralise all the Hyundai digital properties and provide an efficient way to manage content via a Unified Enterprise Content Management System. The content management system strategy incorporated the Hyundai intranet, extranet and corporate website. The intranet is used by over 200 people, and required a distributed publishing system. The Hyundai extranet has hundreds of dealers throughout Australia through the ‘Auto-net Portal’, and it was essential that all dealers have the same access to bulletins updates as well as price lists. Hyundai’s corporate website receives a huge amount of traffic, requiring a system that enabled simple yet effective content management and ease of use. The key objectives included: - Replace existing intranet used by over 200 users
- Develop an extranet for the ‘Auto-net Portal’
- Replace the corporate website with a Content Management System in HTML and flash, allowing publishers to update flash content as well as other areas of the site
- Provide management with the option to centralise or decentralise certain publishing properties
The SolutionElcom provided Hyundai with a solution that incorporates the use of designers and information architects. This assisted in analysing the requirements of the system and documenting a solution for best practice to achieve and exceed the client’s objectives. At the heart of the system is CommunityManager.NET framework – an enterprise content management system. Elcom worked closely with the Information Technology (IT) and Marketing business units at Hyundai to deliver an outstanding, unique and totally customisable solution. The solution included: - Active Directory (AD) Integration
- Content Management System (CMS) to flash integration
- Integration between CommunityManager.NET with Microsoft Index Server for Intranet search
- RSS syndication of content and the aggregation of content throughout the various areas of the Hyundai intranet, extranet and corporate website
- Custom built a remote login to the Auto-net applications
