Hume Building Society

The Requirements

Hume Building Society (HBS) wanted to re-brand their website with a new, fresh look and with much clearer navigation. HBS also wanted greater autonomy and flexibility in managing their website.

Another requirement of the re-design of the website was to allow much better promotion of HBS products via the online channel and to increase the cross-selling of HBS products for example having financial planning ads on the home loan investment page.

The new website was also aimed at developing a closer relationship with the customers by improving the customer services.

The Solution

Elcom provided the Hume Building Society with a solution that included the use of the Elcom design team and information architects. This enabled Elcom to provide the Hume Building society with a solution that achieved their needs from a user interface and information management perspective.

The Hume Building Society website was completely redesigned and the navigation was significantly improved. At the core of the solution was Elcom’s CommunityManager.NET which made the process of managing the new website simple and effective.

The new website provided a facility for users to apply for a credit card online as well as compare interest rates.

The Benefits

As a result of working with Elcom and implementing CommunityManager.NET, the Hume Building Society increased business activity through the online channel. Users were able to use online banking instead of coming into the branch and performing transactions over the counter.

As a result of an easy to use, simple to navigate website, and because of the more in depth information on the website, there was a reduction of phone calls to the Hume Building Society offices increasing office efficiency.
