Our History

Our founder, John Anstey, started Elcom as part of the incubator, ATP Innovations (now known as Cicida Innovations). ATP Innovations was co-founded by leading Sydney universities, with an aim to support those working on technology that cannot easily be replicated.

Though, when we began in 1996, Elcom initially worked on revolutionising the tax industry!
Elcom advised the Australian Tax Office on strategies for e-tax and helped develop the first online tax return system, and in doing so, saved countless hours for millions of Australians when submitting their tax returns.

From there, John steered Elcom to be a leader in the Web Content Management industry in Australia and Elcom became one of ATP Innovation's success stories.

Over 25 years later and with a team of 60+ dedicated staff, Elcom is still passionate about helping organisations with their digital initiatives and changing people's lives for the better.

John Anstey

Chief Executive Officer

John Anstey founded Elcom in Australia, in 1996 on the belief that a great content management system should be the starting point for creating digital workplaces and digital transformations. During his six years at Corporate Express (now Staples) in the roles of CFO and then CIO, John implemented the technology that assisted Corporate Express to dominate its industry and list on the Australian Stock Exchange. He has advised the Australian Tax Office on the strategies for e-tax the online tax return system, which was regarded as the most successful e-government initiative in Australia. He regularly advises business executives on strategies to take advantage of the internet.

Ryan

Ryan Bloch

Chief Operating Officer

Ryan joined the Elcom executive team in March 2009 after 12 years at the Dimension Data Group (now NTT Data), both in South Africa and Australia. Following completion of his MBA at Macquarie Graduate School of Management, Ryan became responsible for general management at Dimension Data Australia in the position of NSW Data Centre Solutions Manager. Ryan is an experienced member of the IT business community, delivering solutions across a number of industry sectors and geographies. As General Manager of Elcom, Ryan is responsible for the management of all aspects of the business, including Sales & Marketing, Product Development, Human Resources and Operations.

Josh

Josh Anstey

Customer Solutions Director

Prior to joining Elcom, Josh founded and led a number of start-ups and worked with several organisations to build successful digital and channel strategies. As VP of Customer Solutions, Josh is responsible for the continued customer & partner growth in the North American and Asia Pacific Regions. He works closely with partners to create effective strategies to meet their sales and client’s business goals. Josh assists Asia Pacific clients in their selection of Elcom as their digital platform of choice, enabling them to successfully achieve their digital objectives.

Tracey

Tracey Schneider

Software Development Director

Tracey has spent over 25 years in software development and has worked in the insurance, engineering, travel, mining and retail industries. She has worked across the systems development lifecycle and has had several leadership positions during her 15 years at Elcom. Tracey is responsible for ensuring the backend of Elcom, product development and customer development, meets client’s business needs and delivers ROI. Tracey manages a team of developers located in Sydney and India.
